Hi guys

I did the test and to be honest neither I knew about it. In my opinion some of the answers were quite “easy”, while some were way less obvious. I think this test is suitable for the period of Technological growth which we are living in, in order to solve this ethical problem which is important to discuss about. Moreover it is useful because it allows researchers to collect several information and opinions from different cultures and nationalities. However I have to say I do agree with Stefano, why should I buy an automatic vehicle knowing that in some situations I’d be the one who dies? I’m more inclined to let destiny make its course. Moreover, I support automatic driving only when it can correct a human mistake (for example the risk to fall asleep). Unfortunately sometimes mistakes are to be found into the same system which runs the automatic driving, leading to mortal accident (as already happened to Tesla cars). Even in this case I would lose my life for an human error committed by a different person from the driver. I will conclude by saying that putting my safety and life in the hands of an AI doesn’t make me feel comfortable at all.

    Goodnight

    Hi guys,

To answering about Luca’s question, I would say that in my opinion China, being an economically growing nation, offers great opportunities for new start up creations. But it’s not as easy as it looks because, as someone of you has just said and as I was able to heard to the conference, we should relate to a different culture which has another business deal way. Moreover rules, costs and politics for starting a new business are many and different from one city to another one, therefore we must know with certainly where we would to create our business in China.

Anyway I take the view that Europe is able to accomplish considerable improvements but I think many times the potential isn’t exploited to the full. Moreover to create a start up we must consider some elements like state support, cost of living and taxes. However, I’m all about potential of our continent and also of Italy accordingly I’d rather invest time and and money without going out this country. As Luca already said, I’d like to focus my idea on new tech, too.

Also about Giorgio’s topic I think it’s a great idea encourage to open or growing up start up through these incentives all over Italy. Is the way to start believing in the success and potential of own ideas and business.

    Have a nice day

    Good afternoon everyone,

About precious plastic I think it’s a rewarding project which goes over money. It’s good to see people spending their time to find a solution about this problem, only for free. With the aid of many people, Hakkens was be able to make this project into reality. The strength of this organisation lies in the ability to solve plastic pollution as a problem which afflicts the community and doesn’t make profits. Fortunately, there are some people like that. Also it’s satisfactory recycling plastic into new and useful things, giving them a value and a new life.

About Luca’s question, in my opinion they could sell machines to turn this project into profits, after finding a buyers category. This could be a way to recycling at home for those people who are very busy and they don’t have time to watch tutorials to build it but who care this project. In this way people can create what they want with their available plastic.

After that, I would share with you this beauty products brand carried out by Brianne West who decided to save the world from plastic waste. I leave the link here: https://global.ethiquebeauty.com/?geo_redirection_stay=1

    See you!

    Hi guys,

Thanks Sara for this new topic.

I agree with Benedetta, I think technology can do great things. In this way I find it’s an effective and innovation solution to solve the issue of sea pollution. It won’t be able to solve it completely but I find it’s already an optimal start. Even in this case the guilty as always is human hand and it’s a more and more a frequent problem. In not many years in the sea there will be more plastic than fishes. Eating seafood and considering, for instance, fish could swallow micro particelles of plastic, these ones will arrive on our dishes.

Finally it would be necessary to adopt more rigid laws and sanctions for companies which produce plastic materials or for those companies which throw away to river like a landfill (which then will be brought into the sea by the current). Industries have earned big money to damage the environment, it’s time to charge the bill. This is to discourage production and replace this harmful material with an innovative one. Another starting point to solve this problem. Engaging to defeat this will allow a new state of greeting for the ocean species, for us and for the environment. In our small way we could start changing the buying habits.

    Have a nice day.

    Hi everyone,

To be honest I don’t find Italy the best way to invest in new startup indeed it’s eleventh in the standings of innovation. It’s not so good.

But the best place to invest in Italy could be Milan surely, it’s a city with big potentiality but not developed as the other countries. Despite the efforts it isn’t albe to be competitive enough.

It would be a good idea for example head to Berlin or Paris because they generate an ecosystem that attracts ideas and investment all over the world. In this case help and support from the institutions is granted. Young entrepreneurs are financed in their projects. As a metter of fact they are placed at the second and third after United Kingdom. I agree that a new probable capital for all start up could be Dublin or even Stockholm.

Regarding London will be upset due to Brexit. If they thought to make a great decision for the UK, they got extremely wrong. It will become increasingly impossibile for startup of other countries avail of this financial source as well as complete the commercial exchanges and financial transactions. Due to customs restrictions, english startups will not be albe to exchange resources easily.

    So how will it end?

    Hi,

This phenomenon is regulated by the leaves, which prevent their blooming by releasing a hormone. Rain and the strong winds have bared the trees, starting the flowering again.

I think it’s a beautiful event but very strange. I must say that I’m not surprise. The climate is changing, it will have repercussions on everything and therefore the possibility that these events can happen is higher.

    Have a nice weekend!

    Hi Eunice,

Google decides to change its previous business model witch allowed manufacturers install for free Google popular mobile apps on phone with Android operation system. The company decides to start charging smartphone markers to pre-install its apps as a result of a $5 billion antitrust fine imposed by EU. It has been payed because google had abused market dominance of Android to mantein its dominant position. This news concern device manufacturers but individual users too.

Android is always been a great Apple competitor. Google giving away its open source operating system resulted in cheaper phones.

Therefore my thought is that charging its apps will lead to an increase of selling price of the phones. Personally I prefer, as a operating system, IOS because I don’t find Android system easy to use, then in my opinion it will lead Android to an unfavourable position compared to the previous one.

It’s also true that smartphone makers will be able to install rival modified of Android or sell device with Android but without google’s apps installed (they will be provided with licens). But also in this case it will be in a disadvantageous position because won’t offer the same previous opportunities.

    What’s your opinion?

    Good night

    Hi guys,

I read all about this topic and I agree with everyone’s thoughts.

Like every social, Facebook has its advantages and disadvantages. I consider this situation not so much a disadvantage but a worrying and dangerous thing. We use social network everyday without thinking about consequences we can meet just sharing, posting photo or inserting our data. For us this actions are innocuous but hacker use this key data for their own purposes. Moreover I agree when you said that pay the fined doesn’t repair the injuries. It’s true. Unfortunately facebook thought to solve and deepen the situation when it’s too late and the damage has been done.

About trump’s new strategy, it’s important that the Federal Governament do its part to ensure USA has the best cyber security in the world. But unlike Obama, who forced the army to consult the State Departement, the intelligence community, and other agencies before conducting a cyber attack, trump gives the military more freedom to act. I agree with Eunice because this strategy will bring cyber attacks to escalate rather than shrink, increasing dangers on net.

    Hi everyone

Regarding the article share by Edoardo we can notice that this is a problem very serious that worries and involves the whole planet. Every day the situation is getting worse and we can observe it on our skin, but in spite of everything we don’t watch out about its terrible power and to remove from our thoughts the fact that it will soon concern all and change our lives.

In my opinion this is a problem which should be solved only with the participation of all countries, nobody must be to rule out.

Referring to the data If we want to live better we’ll must think about the health of our planet and act, the smallest action can make the difference.

Limiting global warming to 1.5ºC would require rapid, far-reaching and unprecedented changes in all aspects of society but must be faced even if it won’t be easy.

    Good morning,

I think protectionism will certainly be a disadvantage for foreign countries. Being nationalist, as I said, he tries to increase the economy of his country.

For example, taxing foreign steel and aluminium will mean USA companies will buy local steel inside, so more companies will want to buy their goods without buying from foreign countries.

This will bring price go up in the USA because there will be less of those products coming from abroad. The demand will increase and profits too.

Probably motto ‘union is strength’ doesn’t like to him.

    What are your opinions?

    Hi guys

    What an interesting topic!

At first Trump following his win in the election, trying to soften his position, said that he had “an open mind” toward climate change. He knew very well that the decision to withdraw from the agreement would draw strong criticism both at home and abroad, so he decided to put off. Soon after chose to back off the pact. One of his reasons was the skepticism of climate change and he refused to acknowledge the principle of common responsibility and the second reason was that trump belived that the paris agreement would have impaires both employment and traditional energy industries (on the contrary of Obama thought).

So i think he’s consistent with his nationalistic and isolationist american first. First of all comes the health of his nation. USA abdication was a heavy blow to global effort against climate change in fact the consequences will be disastrous.

On the other side, musk had great courage to go against the president of America threatening to depart the economic advisory role if his advice on climate change was disregard. As a great supporter of his job he continue to follow his goals of accellerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy and to help make humanity a multi-planet civilization. As Benedetta says if he had stayed inside the council he would have gone against his principles about climate change, that’s why he’s building a company that makes electric cars and solar panels.

I’m waiting to hear your opinion!

    Hi Stefano,

Sorry but maybe we didn’t understand each other. I have only explained my opinion about tecnology, in fact I said ‘Maybe some of you have negative point of view about it’ I didn’t refer to you but you had to take my thougt in general. I apologize again.

After that I also think that digital tech encompasses both aspects.

And I agree with you when you said ‘past can also be called reality’, of course , but I mean that we don’t have to compare past with present. For istance when I was just a child I spent lot of time drawing on my homework book, nowdays children spend their childhood drawing on “their” tablet, it isn’t a good thing to see but it’s about today’s change.

If that was what you meant!

    Good evening guys

Thank you for the question Benedetta!

Taking part at the conference was very challenging and I’d like to say my opinion. Innovation and new technologies are that they will soon take a huge part in the world of work. We live in a period full of changes and even a bit complex but this shouldn’t scare us. I also think there are people that must change the world and create new opportunities, we don’t have to be driven by technology but we are the ones who should take control of it because without us it won’t find any development.

Maybe some of you have negative point of view about it but I think this is what we need to satisfy human needs nowadays, without comparing them to the past. Now we can only move forward and continue to evolve.

I would like to share with you this article, check it out!

    hello,

sorry guys but I realized I made a mistake yesterday, at the end of my opinion I meant “president” and not “CEO”.

Regarding what Stefano said I think he’s perfectly right, a mistake like this can’t be justified. After that, about “new is always better” sometimes it’s not like that, we know what we leave but don’t know what we are going to meet. Perhaps this is the case of that quote, I hope this awful situation will get over and the company could bring back its brightness always with the presence of its founder.

Instead about Valentina’s question I agree with you Marianna when you said “the name itself seems to be chosen to get more votes at the elections from people that didn’t inform themselves enough” because for some peolpe it is more convenient to receive the basic income than to work or look for a job. Also my thoughts is that there are more negative aspects beacuse it is for fight poverty in Italy but there will alway be someone who takes advantage of it. Of course some requirements are needed to have it but not everyone had understood it when they voted.

I don’t know whether to give confidence or not to this decision, maybe it will be a new starting point, I hope.
