    Hi everyone!

    First of all, thanks @martinavalentini for the link about this initiative of Facebook and, differently from FB Stories, this could really be an innovation that can make easier donations for the ones who are in need. If I have to think like a bad man, I can say that this could be also a way to introduce payment on Facebook, which is a while everyone is talking about (starting from last F8).

    Anyway, in order to maintain this forum active I would like to introduce the argument “Snapchat”. This year would be probably SNAP IPO year and there is like a crazy enthusiasm around it (someone says that its evaluation is around $ 20 BILLION!) that for me is just meaningless. I am sure that it’s a very popular app in USA and maybe in other English-speaking countries, but for me it’s just a meteor, it’s just a fad. In my opinion, their biggest error was not to make strong marketing campaigns in non-English-speaking countries (like, i.e. Italy) which could make possible to have a larger and more loyal user base. For this reason, for example, using passively Snap, I saw a great decrease of Italian users in the app when Instagram introduced IG Stories (I don’t want to talk about WhatsApp stories, Facebook Stories and Messenger stories because it’s just Zuck craziness and a total disaster). And, I have to say that Stories works perfectly with IG. Why the decrease in Snap? Easy: Snap was not strong enough in Italy (and also in other countries) to maintain their user-base into the app and users just moved from Snap to IG (or, even if they were users of both apps, they just leaved Snap). And now I saw almost the same ex-snachatters into IG using the same feature (aka stories). And it sounds like madness to me hearing people talking about Snap as a successful and long-life startup and about its IPO. Their success is based on a feature that is just easy to be copied and so Zuck did in a great way with IG.
    Finally, I would say that Snap is the new Twitter: maybe it would never fail because of a “minimum” loyal user-base, but for sure it will not be the next Facebook.

    What do you think about? Do you use Snapchat? and, if yes, WHY?

    Hello @albertoconte and @carlozanotti , thank you! I agree with you, the fundraiser is a news indeed important, in my opinion, not only for major disasters, but also for small personal needs. By donating just a euro, you can allow a person to pay for college tuition, to make a master.

    although there will be a risk that everyone is creating their own campaign cf, no true needs.

    Yes Alberto, I downloaded Snapchat, but since Instagram introduced stories, I don’t use it anymore! surely they weren’t made a good marketing campaign and as an application has a few functions, sharing a few hours and filter.

    Then, in my opinion, the application is complex and not user-friendly. 42% of users are under 18, 36% less than 24.

    Good Evening ! In order to reply to Alberto I studied the snapchat marketing campaign and I think that is pretty good also i our country. But We have to say that Instagram is not alone, Instagram simply is a dwarf on giant’s shoulders who is Facebook. Zuckenberg could reach billion people without paying 1$ and you can’t compare a giant like Facebook with Snapchat, it’s like to see a fight betweed mid size and small size, there’s no challange. Anyway I’m still using snapchat because I respect the creator and I like it, even if I could reach more people and get 100 views more than on snapchat.

    About Snapchat is normal that the main part of their users are young guys, young people are the first ones to approach to the new technologies. But I think that snapchat could be a good instrument also for the industries and their business. One of the strong points of snapchat is that the videos are short (10 sec), with a standard quality and a 24h to life. The fact that all the snaps have a duration of one days pushes their consumers to open it very often, not to lose the last stories of their influencers and preferred brand. Then they assure  in this way a consisting flow of consumers moved by the curiosity. With more than 200M users is one of the most popular app, it possesses an useful basin of consumers for the industries. All the videos have the same quality so no problem if you are not a video maker. I will link an interesting video about how to use snapchat for business even if also as Martina said instagram have introduced the stories in his app I think that Snapchat is stil the best one in this sector. And now they have also introduced adv between the user’s stories and because of people are curious on the lives of their acquaintances, they are prepared to also tolerate the publicity in order to know what their best friend has made the evening before, because the fact that the videos has got a  duration after which they are cancelled makes to lower the barrier inibitory of whom makes the video.

    Hello @albertoconte. i think Snapchet had the difficult to not reinvented themselves cause the idea is really interesting and original but if you do’t make a new product or new features ,in this period where things change faster ever, you will collapse and fail. I’m agree with you if they don’t change anything they will follow Twitter’s trend for sure.

    I agree with @carlozanotti, the idea was really innovative, has revoluzioned a part of the social network, every day we do a great number of photos without too much importance, perfect for only visible 24 hours. Unfortunately it hasn’t been able to renew.

    Innovation never stops.

    @martinavalentini
    @carlozanotti It’s true innovation never stops have you read about the new Facebook 360 videos? Facebook opens the possibility to launch direct in streaming of tapes to 360 degrees to all the consumers, from his own profiles or from the pages. Whoever has a compatible camera as the new Gear 360 can be part of this innovation technology. What do you think about it? In my opinion in a time not so far away argumented reality will become normalcy.

    @andreaannalisa Yes, I saw this news and I find it really interesting. These photos much more involving all users, make you a  participant of any event from your desk. in addition, you do this picture just to have a smartphone.

    I tell my trip to Shanghai with these photos because every time I see one of these on my wall, I always stop to look them. (involve me much)
