I’m 21 years old, I attend the course of economy and management in Padua. I was at the event organised by prof. Gubitta in Padua, it was very interesting and inspiring, I have always thought that Silicon Valley is a particular reality completely different than the rest of the world, during the event you and the other speakers were able to really show how people work but especially how they think in Silicon Valley which is the main characteristic that make the area unique. I very appreciated the idea of Mr. Ognibeni to work having the head in Silicon Valley and simultaneously the heart in Italy. I’m interested to partecipate to SVST because I think that could give me another idea of what is the real business world and also to have the opportunity to visit some efficent and famous firms.

    Thanks for your attention Paolo!

Big data are a propeller for enormous change ( positive or not…will see..) of our life .

Psychologist Michal Kosinski developed a method to analyze people in minute detail based on their Facebook activity. Did a similar tool help propel Donald Trump to victory?

Two reporters from Zurich-based Das Magazin went data-gathering. Read this story…just a beginning of an Era.

The article is at the same time fascinating and terrifying. It is incredible how the strategies are changing nowadays, but what is remarkable is that we are observed in every single action we make. The fact that George Orwell’s book has been one of the bestsellers over the last weeks it is not random maybe. The big data commerce shows that people are studied and research are sold, with an important turnover behind. It is upsetting that people’s habits or preferences are registered, but what worries more is the psychological analysis that is possible to make among digital users. Users themselves provide information about their personality, through social networks for example, and this completely changes the advertising concept: it becomes a customized advertising. It is a great discovery, but also powerful “bomb”, as Kosinski said, if used to address the results of political elections.

This points out that a new era is coming and part of it is already a reality. Furthermore, states and companies are likely to have a strong impact on this new trend (or business?) and also people may play a role in this new game, deciding how much they are willing to expose their personality online.

This Coffeetech seems a cool initiative, and is very interesting to discover new firms that do research and make their business helping people!

Furthermore, this guy Saverio Murgia looks like a very young CEO!

Thank you Paolo, you have always nice connections !
