    Hi everyone!

I thanks to Ismael for the topic, cause I care much about it.

This subject, as well as all the sensitive issues, takes to polarizing opinions where arguments in favor and in opposition are both supported by valid and good reasons which have to be heard. So I respect all your ideas but I do not agree with some prior statements. I think that under no circumstances the use of our data by governments can be justified, even if they are anonymous. I agree with privacy EXPERTS which say that “governments are not called to disregard rights such as privacy and freedom of expression in the name of tackling a public health crisis.” We have to be aware of our rights, they are based on the sense of human dignity and of respect for the individual, and it is in our duty to defend them. For me, it is a bit superficial to say “without health, there can be no privacy” cause it underestimates the problem.

In this particular situation of crisis, I sincerely think that we must not under-estimate the psychological effects that it could have on the population. People are close in their houses for over a month, each of us is living in a continuous state of stress, so taking those invasive measures could further destabilize citizens causing serious social damage. People are tired, they feel deprived of their freedom, they feel removed from any decision, they feel not taken into consideration, the perception is to live in a pseudo-dictatorship. So I believe that they don’t need to be tracked and controlled in a such way because it would increase their discomfort.

All this situation makes me think of the “big brother” by Orwell, and that’s horrible.

Also, I don’t think that the use of these methods is really necessary cause as we know it does not resolve the “real” problem, but as I pointed out, it creates new ones. There is a limit to everything and we have to be careful not to cross the line. Technology is fantastic but if it is used in the wrong way it can become dangerous.

I leave you with a point of reflection: do you think that anonymized data may be real? Do you think that our identity is protected by anonymity? It makes a difference to be identified with name and surname or dataset?

    I think no!…

See you guys, have a nice day!

    Hi everyone!

I just want to say I really agree with you all guys, Mr. Lotito’s speech was very fascinating and inspiring. I admire his positivity and above all his love for his land. We should take inspiration from people like this, which prefer to give prestige to their country instead of getting richer somewhere else. I think they are the most honest part of our country and also the font of hope for those who want to undertake this route.

I also appreciated his moral messages. As he said, it is very important and also honorable to rejoice at the success of others cause it is the starting point for our success. And, we don’t have to be afraid about ours ideas because if we believe in them we should move them forward, and even if we have a failure it doesn’t matter because all the greats fail sometimes. I think that failures are a challenge to improve yourself and to exceed your limits.

Now I feel more motivated and I want to tanks to Mr. Lolito for his evidence cause it gave me something to reflect on and a great desire to believe in what I do and in what people can do.

Never give up and be positive!

    Have a nice day

    Hi everyone!

To answer to Ismaele Paoli questions, I think that, in Europe, in order to make possible a model similar to the Silicon Valley, we should exploit the potential of the European Union. I mean, Europe has a great power that can exploit to unify and strengthen states, both at the economical and legal levels.

An example that comes in my mind to make you understand better what I mean is the Erasmus. On the one hand, it has a great potentiality because allows people to network, to confront with different cultures and civilizations. On the other side, a negative aspect is that it was not given equal dignity to any state, there are economic and legal differences among them, which push students to leave their home country to make a better life in another one with higher tenor of life and biggest advantages. We must avoid this brain-drain such as new graduates and university students because young minds are the base of start-up and innovative companies.

Hence, in my opinion, we should take inspiration from the American model only about his uniformity, American states are UNITED and that’s in my view is essential to create a good and innovative environment. The European model should be based on legal and economic equality in order to avoid competition and to promote collaboration.

Furthermore, with respect to the American model, we have the advantage to have a huge cultural variety which allows to think and reason in different ways which means to have a broader perspective on problems solving.

In conclusion, we should not emulate the American model, we should create a better one that matches with our reality.

    Thake care! 😊

    Hello everybody!

As the article says, in this period of humanitarian and economic crisis, digital learning technology plays a big part in our country. In fact, it is a key element for the future of our economy because it get us a chance to continue working, which means having the possibility to move on with our lives without fear of worst consequences.

We cannot afford to stop the economy of the country because it is the driving force for the entire Italian system. It is necessary to provide the necessary technical support to work remotely.

For my own part, my student life is going very well. I feel very comfortable attending classes at home because I can take my time and being sure to perfectly understand. Even more, lectures are shorter and in my opinion, professors are more clear and specific. Also, this approach gives the possibility to working students and non-attending students, to have an explanation from the professor if they want because classes are audio-recorded.

I think that digital learning is an advantage for students but I believe, however, that it should not be a replacement for traditional face to face lectures, rather, it should be a support for them. I, therefore, hope that the university will continue using these methods.

I expect that our society can benefit from this situation in order to improve the use of technology and to be prepared for anything.

    What do you think?

    What’s up, guys? I hope you’re good!

That’s an interesting topic, Ismael… nowadays technology is everywhere, and it’s difficult to fully appreciate its potential.

I belong to a generation in which technological development, in particular the digital one, was super-fast. Every day was a new discovery: the phone of last generation, touchscreen computers, 4K televisions and so on… (just like now) I’m so used to this reality that it’s difficult for me to be astonished in front of technological applications. Technology is now a basic element in our society, as it is of huge support in our daily life, and in a certain way, it made us dependent on it.

In my view, it’s hard to find something fascinating about the application of technology. I guess I could say that nothing really fascinates me about technology and in the meantime, I could say the opposite. This is because as I said before, we are so much surrounded by technology that we don’t really notice it but if we stop and think about its abilities and potentials, we realize how astonishing it is. Really! 😊 a few years ago, all of this was considered science fiction or magic ahahaha

In my opinion, what is really charming about technology is the fact that behind each technological application or more in general behind technology, there are thousands of minds which commit themselves to reach ever more ambitious goals for everyone’s benefit.

    Looking forward 😉

    Hi guys,

I’m Fabiana and I’m 20. Just you to know I’m a CIM student (second year) and I’m very pleased with my choice cause I’m enjoying my studies so much.

I embrace the motto “carpe diem” so here I am 😊. I think that would be stupid not to take this great opportunity, especially for a student of communication just like me because it gives me the possibility to be part of an important network of people that may be crucial for my future. This experience could be a key point on my life and I really hope it will be, even because right now, I still don’t know which job I want to do after my degree, so I do expect to clear my mind with this “project”

Furthermore I love to travel, adventures and challenges.

I hope to meet you soon guys! 😉
