Hey you guys,
How are you? Hope you’re all doing well! It’s been a while since I’ve posted something because I had to study for some exams (as you, I guess…)
I just wanna say a couple of things about the last webinar that so far, in my opinion, it’s been the best because I share a lot of my background with Carola. I’m a graphic design too (even If I work in digital marketing) and hear her talking about design, user experience, product was so stimulant to me. That is what I wanna do in my life and she gave me tons of determination. Except @alexbisetti no one said anything about Carola. Didn’t you like her talk?
Anyway, I was browsing the web and I found this article by Forbes in which is reported that Facebook will let users turn off political ads, especially in view of the US Presidential election that will be held in November. Here’s the article: https://www.forbes.com/sites/rachelsandler/2020/06/16/facebook-will-let-users-turn-off-political-ads/#320e005e951a
Do you have anything to say about it?
See you tomorrow, have a good night! Bye,
VMC
June 3, 2020 at 22:56 #12520Here I am guys, evening to all!
I do like this forum, there are always interesting topics: thank you all!
@daniel-romano what do I think about failure? I agree with @silviag when she says that failure is what keeps her alive and motivated. It works for me too! Plus, I think that failure is part of our lives. Everyone need to fail at least once, more that once is better, to understand what that means and what it has to be done to get improved. Otherwise, how could you ever know?Just a couple of days ago, during the Crew Dragon launch, I read this line by Elon Musk: “If things are not failing, you’re not innovating enough!”.
I mean, this is great and it perfectly fits in our way to see things!
@katia-palma Luca’s speech has been inspiring for me too. He reminded me a good life lesson: “impossible is nothing” (yes, I know, Adidas will knock at my door soon…)Night guys, see you tomorrow on Zoom! 😉

June 2, 2020 at 23:12 #12511Hello all,
Hope everything’s fine! Today we had our third webinar and the guest was Luca Prasso with Stefania Tibiletti as interviewer.
Luca said a lot about his experience and, in my humble opinion, it was absolutely amazing! I was impressed mainly when he said that companies in SV entrust you big projects not because they want to see you fail, but because they trust you and know that you can manage it, it’s the “learning on the job” thing.
Actually I think this point of view is a little bit missing in Italy. Do you have any comments about it?
Some of us, like @silviag @eleonoracarletti @matteo30 (I cannot find who else, sorry…) introduced themselves and said what interested them. What about you guys?
And @fabiobrusa yes, this is a great opportunity to find your path. I’m sure you’ll get it! 😉
P.S. @paolomarenco speaking about kids and YouTube (maybe you can share this with Luca)… well, some of them have earned just a couple of bucks 😀
The number one is only 8: https://www.forbes.com/sites/maddieberg/2019/12/18/the-highest-paid-youtube-stars-of-2019-the-kids-are-killing-it/#747a37cc38cd
Have a good night and I’m available for a talk, gladly (my Linkedin’s profile’s in my bio)!
Night guys,

May 28, 2020 at 21:35 #12490Hello guys,
How’s it going? I hope everything’s fine!
Unfortunately today I couldn’t join the live because I was attending a webinar for work. I look forward to watch the rec on YouTube!
Meanwhile: how was it? Do you have any comments?
Thanks a lot, have a good evening!

May 14, 2020 at 23:39 #12454Hey guys, evening!
How many interesting topics are popped up today! Starting from the question “we are “digitally prepared”, but are we “practically ready” for this World?” (@katia-palma), passing through the “Terms of Use and Privacy Policy” (@dariaarena) and the “radical open revolution” (@sal0hc1n).
I would like to add something about these topics. First of all, most of us – and for us I mean the Gen Y (Millennials or Generation Y) – are digitally prepared, that’s for sure. The thing is: how many of us (not the ones in this Forum) are practically ready? In my experience as simple human being I have seen lots of cases of Gen Yers that are not ready for this world and I’m not talking about the technicalities, but as a moral use of the technologies. For instance, digital bullying and similar. I think we are in charge of teaching the next Gens (especially the Generation Alpha, basically our kids in the next future) how to be practically ready for the world that we will build in the next years.
About the “Terms of Use and Privacy Policy” I’ve just read today a blog about a new app that helps people to cope with this problem. Something like: “Hey, are you updated on what you have to know about Terms and Policy? Here are some basics you may wanna check before giving your “I agree”!”. Forgive me, I don’t remember exactly the name, but I’m gonna Google it or look back in my browser history and I’ll let you know!
The “radical open revolution” is a topic I do care. Nowadays there’s a kind of selfishness (in the society I mean) that has arisen and is dangerously arising. Nicholas asked: “Couldn’t we do the same thing with science and medicine?” and I think the answer has to be “yes, we could!”, but also “yes, we have to!” because there’s no way to have things got better! Remember, no man is an island: https://web.cs.dal.ca/~johnston/poetry/island.html
Have a good night you all! See you around,
VMC.
May 13, 2020 at 22:14 #12442Hey guys, how’s it going?
Today we had our first (or at least my first) webinar and the host was Andrea Baldini [Breed Reply]. He told us about his experiences, especially about Cisco Silicon Valley, and his adventures all over the world (the USA, the UK, Singapore and so on…). Super interesting. Moreover he focused on cyber security: what do you think about it? Anything to add?
In case you lost it, it’ll be added soon on this YouTube channel, if I’m not wrong: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8BpyAO694xIf08m0_ZMBWQ
You can text me on Linkedin, just to share something! See you around guys, bye!

May 10, 2020 at 18:12 #12416Hey guys, nice to meet you all!
I’m Valerio Marco Ciampi, almost 28. I graduated in 2018 in Communication, Innovation and Multimedia and I’m currently studying Digital Communication at the University of Pavia. Actually I’m a non-attending student because, after a six month internship, I have been hired as Digital Marketing Assistant in Speexx, a language service provider company: I feel so lucky given the COVID-19 situation.
I’m so exciting about these webinars. I look forward to hearing and learning from the best Italian speaker in Silicon Valley and then talk about the topics with all of you. I think that this opportunity comes once in a lifetime: the chance to visit California, the chance to visit the Silicon Valley having a look so closely at all the companies that, basically, are running the digital world and not only. And last, but not least: since I was a kid I’ve had this dream call United States. I’ll probably cry…
Anyway, you guys can add me on Linkedin and have a lovely talk about our passions. It would be so great and I’ll be please of that!!!
I hope to see and meet you all soon, have a good day! 😀

I’m excited and I hope for all of us that this dream can come true. Why? Well, I think that this opportunity comes once in a lifetime: have the chance to visit California, have the chance to visit the Silicon Valley having a look so closely at all the companies that, basically, are running the digital world and not only. Moreover, the opportunity to learn a lot from them it’s the right boost we all need to our careers.
